Every team deserves a data officer.

Big companies have a Chief Data Officer and a team of analysts. Everyone else has a spreadsheet and a hunch. Kimo is the data officer for the rest of us: it connects your sources, keeps the definitions straight and answers in plain language.

Our mission

Make trustworthy answers as easy as asking a colleague, for growth teams, finance teams and mission teams who will never have a data team of their own.

The story

From a kitchen table to three Kimos

Two and a half years, two offices, one stubborn idea: data tools should be built for the people asking the questions.

  1. Mar 2024Founding

Two founders, one kitchen table in Paris

Maya ran growth at a scale-up and spent Mondays rebuilding the same spreadsheet. Théo had built data platforms for a decade. They started Kimo to give every team the data officer they could never hire.

  2. Jul 2024Pre-seed

A €1.8M pre-seed and the first Kimo sketch

The mascot started as a doodle on a whiteboard: a small, curious creature that reads every table so you don’t have to. It stuck.

  3. Nov 2024First customers

    Ten design partners, three connectors

Search Console, Stripe and PostgreSQL. Ten marketing teams used it daily; we sat next to them and rewrote the onboarding four times.

  4. Apr 2025v1

    Kimo v1 goes public

Self-serve signup, 20 connectors and the first version of Ask Kimo. 400 workspaces in the first month.

  5. Sep 2025Seed

    €9M seed, London office opens

Finance teams kept asking for the same thing marketers loved, so we built a revenue model and opened a London office for our UK customers.

  6. Feb 2026Defense

    A sovereign, air-gapped edition

A European maritime authority asked if Kimo could run without the internet. Six months later, Defense Intelligence shipped on-prem with signed offline bundles.

  7. Oct 2026v2

Kimo v2: three products, one engine

Marketing, Business Intelligence and Defense Intelligence, each with its own Kimo, all sharing one semantic layer.

Marketing
Hello!

Endlessly curious and slightly over-caffeinated. Sky reads every search query before breakfast and gets genuinely excited about a 0.4-point CTR bump.

Navy Kimo

Business Intelligence
At your service

Calm, precise, quietly funny. Navy reconciles Stripe with the CRM for fun, never rounds before the last step, and keeps a fountain pen for board meetings.

Loves
Clean month-ends, tabular figures
Dislikes
Four definitions of “revenue”
Catchphrase
“Which MRR do you mean?”
A number you can’t explain is just a rumor.

Steel.

Defense Intelligence
On watch

Few words, sharp eyes. Steel never phones home, keeps its own clock in Zulu time and can tell a transponder gap from a coastline shadow at a glance.

Loves
Air gaps, signed bundles, quiet shifts
Dislikes
Alert noise, unverified sources
Catchphrase
“Signal, not noise.”
Nothing leaves the enclave. Not even me.

What we believe

Six things we won’t compromise on

They decide what we build, what we don’t, and who we hire.

01

Answers, not dashboards

Nobody wants a dashboard. They want to know what happened and what to do next. We measure ourselves by questions answered.

02

One number, one meaning

If two people get two different MRRs, we failed. The semantic layer is not a feature, it is the product.

03

Your data stays yours

Least privilege, EU hosting by default, on-prem when it matters. We never train on customer data. Ever.

04

Delight is a feature

Data tools are allowed to be lovely. The mascot is a promise: if it feels like work, we are not done.

05

Ship on Thursdays

Small releases, every week, written up honestly in the changelog. Momentum compounds.

06

Sit next to the customer

Every engineer does a customer call each month. The best roadmap is a screen share.
