Marketing command center template

The Marketing command center template puts every channel on one screen: organic social, SEO, paid media, email and earned media, with AI search visibility alongside. It maps each platform’s native metrics to six shared concepts (spend, attention, engagement, visits, conversions and pipeline), so leaders can compare channels on outcomes while specialists keep the channel detail one click away.

What’s inside

Everything the dashboards need, already modeled

Models join your raw sources, metrics are defined once in the semantic layer, and every dashboard, deck and Ask Kimo answer reads from the same definitions.

The details

How the template works

What does the template include?

The template deploys a governed model and a ready-made overview in the Command center. It follows the layout described in One dashboard for every channel: read top to bottom, it answers "are we on track", "which channels drive it" and "what changed".

BandWhat it showsBuilt from
Outcome stripPipeline created, signups, MER, total spend, each against targetCRM, GA4, ad platforms
Channel matrixOne row per channel across the six shared conceptsAll sources, normalized
TrendsWeekly sessions and key events by channel groupGA4
DiagnosticsTop posts, top queries, campaign ROAS, coverage listNative platform data
AnnotationsLaunches, budget shifts, tracking and metric changesYour team, plus automatic sync notes

How are channels normalized?

Native metrics are mapped, not merged. Meta’s Views, for example, counts repeat views by the same person,1 so the template shows it as a Meta attention metric and never sums it with LinkedIn impressions. Visits and conversions use GA4’s default channel group as the single referee, including the AI Assistant channel for referrals from assistants such as ChatGPT or Copilot.2 Search data comes from Search Console, where a click on an external link inside an AI Overview counts as a regular click.3

Key metric definitions

MetricDefinition in the template
MERAttributed revenue (or pipeline) ÷ total marketing spend, all channels. See MER.
Channel sessionsGA4 sessions by default channel group, same date range for every channel
Qualified signupsSignups that meet your activation rule, from the product database or CRM
Pipeline createdCRM opportunities created in period, by original source
Share of voiceYour mentions ÷ mentions of you plus named competitors. See share of voice.
AI Assistant sessionsGA4 sessions in the AI Assistant channel (excludes Google AI Overviews)
Default sources. Add email (Mailchimp, Brevo), LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads or your CRM at any time.

How do you run a weekly review with it?

The command center is designed for a 20-minute weekly meeting. Start at the outcome strip and only move down when something is off target. In the channel matrix, sort by the outcome that is furthest from plan and ask the channel owner for one explanation and one action. Use the trends band to check whether a change is a one-week spike or a new level, and close by adding annotations for anything that will make next week’s numbers look odd: a launch, a paused campaign, a tracking fix. Teams that keep this rhythm stop debating whose number is right, because every number on the screen has one definition and one source.

Weekly review checklist

  • Outcome strip: which metric is furthest from target, and since when?
  • Channel matrix: which channel explains most of the gap?
  • Diagnostics: which campaign, post, query or email is responsible?
  • Freshness: did every source sync since the last review?
  • Annotations: is every launch and change of the week recorded?

Who is it for?

  • CMOs and heads of marketing who need a weekly view of the whole program.
  • Channel owners who want their work judged on comparable outcomes.
  • Founders and RevOps who need marketing numbers that reconcile with the CRM.

Pair it with the Social media overview and the SEO → signup funnel for channel depth, or follow the full setup guide. See it in context on the Kimo Marketing product page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the template without paid media?

Yes. Bands adapt to the sources you connect; spend-based metrics such as MER simply show as not applicable until a spend source exists.

Why does the template not show total impressions?

Platforms count exposures differently, so a summed total would mislead. Attention metrics are shown per platform with their native names.

How fresh is the data?

Each source shows its last sync time. Most marketing sources sync daily by default; freshness alerts flag a stale source.

Can I change the metric definitions?

Yes. Definitions live in the model, not in charts, so editing one updates every tile and every Ask Kimo answer that uses it.
