Connect Search Console

Connect Google Search Console with OAuth, pick properties, and understand the data Kimo imports: queries, pages, countries, devices and the 16-month history.

Search Console pairs naturally with GA4 for sessions and Semrush for rankings.

The Search Console connector imports clicks, impressions, CTR and average position for every property you have access to. It powers the SEO dashboards in Kimo Marketing and is the fastest way to tie content to traffic.

Requirements

  • A Google account with at least Restricted permission on the property. Full or Owner is not required.
  • Domain properties (sc-domain:example.com) and URL-prefix properties are both supported.
  • If your Google Workspace restricts third-party apps, an admin must allow the Kimo OAuth client.

Connect in three clicks

  1. 1
    Choose Search Console

Open Connectors → Add source and pick Google Search Console under Marketing.

  2. 2
    Sign in with Google

Kimo requests the read-only scope webmasters.readonly. It never asks for permission to change your properties or submit sitemaps.

  3. 3
    Select properties

Tick the properties to import. Each one becomes a schema in the source, so you can model them together or separately.

Imported tables

TableGrainKey columns
search_dailyday × propertyclicks, impressions, ctr, position
search_queriesday × queryquery, clicks, impressions, position
search_pagesday × pagepage, clicks, impressions
search_countriesday × countrycountry, clicks, impressions
search_devicesday × devicedevice, clicks, ctr
search_appearanceday × featuresearch_appearance, clicks

Freshness

Search Console data is final after about 48 hours. Kimo syncs every 6 hours and re-imports the last 3 days on each run, so recent numbers settle automatically. Use the is_final column to exclude provisional days from week-over-week comparisons.

Example: top pages losing clicks

Once connected, try asking "pages that lost the most clicks week over week" in Ask Kimo, or query the API directly:

Query
{  "model": "search_pages",  "measures": ["clicks"],  "dimensions": ["page"],  "compare": "previous_period",  "range": "last_7_days",  "order": [{ "field": "clicks_delta", "dir": "asc" }],  "limit": 20}

Several sites, one model

Teams with many properties (country sites, subdomains, a blog on its own host) usually want one combined view. Kimo adds a property column to every imported table, so a single Search model can cover all of them while still letting people filter to one site. Pages are normalized (trailing slashes, utm_ parameters and fragments removed) so the same URL is not counted twice across URL-prefix and domain properties.

  • Group properties with a dimension such as market (FR, DE, UK) using a simple mapping.
  • Join search_pages to your CMS table on the normalized URL to see clicks by author, topic or publish date.
  • Pair with GA4 sessions to follow a query all the way to a signup.
